School Mission
  • We provide students from Head Start through Grade 8 with a challenging and rigorous academic program (bilingual and monolingual) with special emphasis on the arts to ensure that all students meet or exceed grade level expectations.

Curriculum
  • Bilingual programs in Spanish.
  • Special education programs designed specifically for students with serious emotional disturbance, language or speech impairment, specific learning disabilities and limited intellectual functioning.
  • 11-20% of students receive special education services.

  • Mitchell has fostered community involvement through partnerships with Badger Mutual Insurance Company, the Don and Sallie Davis Boys and Girls Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Modjeska Theatre. Tutors from Badger Mutual and the Kiwanis Club mentor students as part of the Adopt-A-Classroom program. These organizations also support our participation in RIF. The Modjeska Theatre provides financial and artistic opportunities for Mitchell's students to experience the world of live theatrical performances. The Helen Bader Foundation recently partnered with Mitchell to provide Homework First and perfect Partners Grants that support student learning and family involvement.
