School Mission
- BASIS SCHOOL SCOTTSDALE will provide a rigorous liberal arts college prep education to middle school students. We have high academic and ethical standards, offering all students various opportunities for intellectual and ethical growth. A supportive environment provided by faculty and administration balances our rigorous and demanding academic program. Our goal is to have students learn to take responsbility for their own education and to recognize and enjoy the power of knowledge.

Instructional Program Highlights
- Comprehensive exams starting in the 6th grade for the 6 core subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History/Geography, English, Math. Saxon program used in Mathematics.
- Chemistry, Physics, Biology taught to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students as seperate subjects. Science prep course for the middle school in 5th grade.
- Mandatory music, art and martial arts in grade 5 and 6; however, in grade 7 and 8, student choose to focus on one elective in art, martial arts, or music (keyboarding).
- Latin in the 6th grade. Mandarin, French, or Spanish offered to 7th and 8th grade students.

- Clubs and extra-curricular activities include: Band/Orchestra; Science Bowl; Chess Club; Recreational Basketball; Yearbook and National Junior Honor Society/Peer Tutoring.

Parent and Community Support
- BULLDOG BOOSTER parent organization communicates regularly with the school and parents to open communication channels. In addition, they coordinate socials for the students and teachers as well as fundraise for many school programs.
Organizations in the community provide extracurricular opportunities for the students including Tennis, Golf, Basketball, Chess, and Yearbook.

- BASIS SCOTTSDALE'S program is designed to prepare students for AP classes in our high school. The curriculum that was recently rated as #3 in the nation (Newsweek, May 8, 2006) will be offered next year in Scottsdale.
